Packing can be the most difficult part of moving. It's tedious and time-consuming. You spend days packing, knowing that you'll just unpack as soon as you finish. There are things you can do to make packing and unpacking less time-consuming and stressful. Plastic wrap is one of the most important packing tools you can use. Here are some uses for plastic wrap that will change your life.

Cover Drawers

Most people take all of their clothing out of their drawers and put it into boxes. Dressers are generally too heavy with the clothes inside, especially if yours are made out of solid wood. Putting the clothes into boxes just wastes time, and it wastes the boxes that can be used for other items. Instead of removing the clothes, put plastic wrap over the drawers. This way, when you move your drawers separately, you can keep your clothes inside of them without your clothes falling out.

Cover Soaps & Lotions

It never fails. Whenever lotions, soaps, and shampoos are transported, they end up leaking into the bag or box they're in. They're easily pushed open, allowing them to leak. While adding plastic wrap will take a little more time while packing, it will save you time trying to rinse everything that is covered in soap when you get to your destination. It will also save you money since you don't need to worry about anything spilling.

All you need to do is take off the top of each bottle. Over the hole, lay a piece of plastic wrap, and then screw the top back on over it. This will keep the liquids inside if the top is pushed open. If you want to do it a little faster, you can put a piece of plastic wrap over the outside of the top. Secure it in place with a hair band, and you don't have to worry about losing those either.

Cover Your Silverware

You probably toss your silverware into a box when you move because there is really no other way to transport them. Instead of making a mess with your flatware, transport them in the organizer that you keep them in. Just wrap the organizer in plastic wrap and put it in the box. When you get to your new home, you can just unwrap it and stick it in the drawer.

Plastic wrap can be your best friend while packing. If you need something covered or secured, ask yourself if plastic wrap can do the trick. Try these tips and think of more uses for plastic wrap while you're packing.
